The Campaign

Science and Maths are the pathway to a successful future. Yet fewer than 20% or 16-19 year olds take A-Level Maths, and half of mixed state schools had no girls study A-Level Physics in 2011.

The Campaign

The Your Life campaign aims to change this, with an ambition to increase the number of students studying STEM subjects by 50% over the next three years. We are business and entrepreneur led, and our founder advocates are:

Edwina Dunn – Dunnhumby and Your Life Chair
Sarah Wood – Unruly
Dr Melanie Windridge – Physicist and Science Communicator
Eben Upton – Raspberry Pi
Sherry Coutu – Entrepreneur and Angel Investor
Belinda Parmar – Lady Geek
Roma Agrawal – Structural Engineer, WSP
Dr Ben Boyes - Engineer, Airbus
Ruth Amos- Engineer and Entrepreneur, StairSteady

What’s it all about?

Coalition: Private-sector buy-in
Girls: Turning the tide on female participation in stem
Appeal: Changing perceptions and making stem a top choice
Engagement: Speaking to 14-16 year olds as key decision makers
Tech: Focussing on tech alongside science, engineering and maths
Champions: Enlist powerful ambassadors from business & beyond

Our campaign will cut through the noise, talking to 14-16 year olds as the key decision makers. Grounded in the real world, we will focus on the future and major on aspiration and enjoyment to redefine how young people understand science and engineering careers.
